Do Your Part for Parkinson's Awareness Month
Join the Parkinson's Community in Raising Awareness and Learning More!
Just over two weeks ago, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 416 declaring April 2012 as Parkinson's Awareness Month. Since then, dedicated PAN advocates have secured more than twenty local and state proclamations.
April's not over yet! As you can see, the first half of Parkinson's Awareness Month was very successful! We hope you can join in making the second half even better. There are many ways you can raise awareness during Parkinson's Awareness Month. See PAN's toolkit of ideas for ways that you can commemorate this special occasion in your local community. PAN also has a unique opportunity for you to honor, recognize, or remember a loved one who has been touched by the disease. Plant a virtual tulip in our annual Tulip Tribute Garden. For all supporters who give a gift of $25 or more, we will post your personal message honoring your loved one. This is a wonderful way to support PAN while honoring someone you care about. We also encourage you to listen to two interviews about Parkinson's Awareness Month and the importance of advocacy:
PAN CEO Amy Comstock Rick: Parkinson's Awareness Month (Clear Channel Radio; Washington, DC)
PAN's Delaware State Director Gary Chard on "Comcast Newsmakers" (DC, MD, VA, WV, DE, PA)
