Act Now: Use Social Media to Connect with Your Members of Congress

Take Advantage of Social Media this August Recess

Dear Parkinson's advocate,

Did you know that a simple tweet or Facebook post can be an effective way to interact with your Members of Congress? With the end of August quickly approaching, now is the perfect time to send your Members a message via social media to encourage them to preserve and strengthen federal funding for research.

Because of automatic, across-the-board spending cuts (sequestration) that went into effect in March - and will remain in effect unless Congress acts - research funding for diseases like Parkinson’s has already faced cuts this year. We can’t afford to let more cuts happen!

Contact Your Members Today
We’ve provided sample social media messages and contact information to help you engage. All you have to do is cut and paste the messages into your social media platform – or feel free to edit and customize.

If you're interested in signing up for your own social media account or learning more about how social media can be used for advocacy, please contact Kristina Gawrgy Campbell at kcampbell@parkinsonsaction.[email protected].
