Amy Comstock Rick, Esq., Chief Executive Officer Ms. Rick is the Chief Executive Officer of Parkinson’s Action Network. Before joining PAN in 2003, she served as the sixth Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, having accepted the nomination to the Senate-confirmed position in 1999. Prior to her appointment to the Office of Government Ethics, Ms. Rick was Associate Counsel to the President in the White House Counsel’s Office. Ms. Rick began her federal service as an attorney at the U.S. Department of Education in 1988; she ended her tenure there in 1998 as Assistant General Counsel for Ethics. Ms. Rick began her professional career at the law firm of Beveridge & Diamond. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan. Emilio Arocho, Program Assistant Emilio is a recent graduate from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he earned a philosophy degree and a minor in computer science. He is delighted to be working with PAN in combating Parkinson's Disease.Hayley Carpenter, Director of Outreach Hayley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining PAN, she worked at the Campagna Center, a non-profit organization serving the children and families of Alexandria, Virginia.
Michelle Duelley, Executive Assistant to the CEO Michelle joins PAN with over 17 years of administrative experience. Prior to joining PAN, she worked at the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association, a trade association supporting the personal care industry. Michelle has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science. Knowing from personal experience the effects of Parkinson’s disease, she looks forward to working with PAN in the fight to find a cure.
Scott McDonald, Communications Specialist Scott joined the PAN team in the summer of 2007. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mary McGuire Richards, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mary joined PAN in September of 2004 with consulting, lobbying, and Capitol Hill experience. Prior to joining PAN, Mary worked with Project Tsunami, Inc, a women's economic development organization. She was also an appropriations lobbyist with Golin/Harris International representing hospitals,
universities, and corporate clients on Capitol Hill. Mary began her career in
Washington by working on Capitol Hill for more than 6 years for two Members of
the House of Representatives. As a senior legislative aide, she handled health
policy issues including NIH and other health care research funding, Medicare and
private insurance coverage, preventative care and treatment issues, and CMS
regulations. She also worked on the Congressional Democratic Health Care
Task-force. Mary graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
Robert Sawicki, Senior Director of Communications Rob joined PAN after spending nearly 10 years working for Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT). During his time working for Lieberman, Rob served as a Staff Assistant, Deputy Press Secretary, and, since 2005, Press Secretary. He also was New Mexico State Press Secretary for Joe Lieberman for President. Rob graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Studies and a minor in Political Science.
Brooks Scoville, Board Liaison Brooks joined PAN in October 2008 and is delighted to use her experience from Capitol Hill and the Clinton Administration working with PAN in combating Parkinson's Disease. Most recently, she served as the Office Administrator for Senator E. Benjamin Nelson (D-Nebraska) providing advice on personnel, budget, facilities, equipment and other logistical matters. Prior to that, Brooks worked in the White House Office of Management and Administration as a Special Advisor and Deputy Director of Personnel. Her career in Washington began as a Staff Assistant to Leon Panetta, the Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton. Brooks graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy.
Jennifer Sheridan, Program Manager Prior to joining PAN, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in women’s studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Jennifer is currently working towards her Masters Degree in Public Policy at George Mason University.
Zach Tanner, Administrative Assistant Before
joining PAN, Zach earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a
minor in justice from American University in Washington, DC. He looks
forward to working with the PAN team in the fight against Parkinson’s. Gianna Tripodi-Bhise, Director of Development Gianna joined PAN in 2005. She has 20 years of experience in leading the development efforts of a variety of health and human services organizations including six years with Easter Seals, five years with the World Game Institute, two years with the National Research Center for Women and Families (NRC), two years with the Metropolitan Center for Assault Prevention (MetroCap), and two years with Radio Bilingue, Inc. She is passionate about PAN’s mission and enjoys working with PAN’s staff and Board of Directors to increase the organization’s funding from corporations, foundations, and individuals throughout the country. Gianna has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and a Masters in Business Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. |
