Congress Considers NETRP Funding |

July 25, 2007, the full House Appropriations Committee passed the
Defense Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 by voice vote.
The bill provides $25 million for the Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment
Research Program (NETRP) which funds top-notch, innovative Parkinson’s
disease research at the Department of Defense.

PAN, along with CAMR, is supporting an incremental measure to expand ethical embryonic stem cell research. The provision, offered by Senator Harkin and Senator Specter, will be added to the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education appropriations bill, which is being considered by the full committee today. |
