Tuesday's election determined who will represent you when the new 110th Congress convenes in January of 2007. Leading up to the election, campaign news was dominated by the war in Iraq, immigration, economic and values issues. But in the last few weeks, Parkinson's disease and stem cell research, thanks to the work of so many advocates, played a prominent role in the political debates. So now it is time to think about what the election and the new 110th Congress means for the issues important to the Parkinson's community. |

In the past few days, Parkinson’s disease and stem cell research have been discussed in the media and throughout the country at a level we have rarely seen. Although we at PAN do not involve ourselves in campaigns and candidates, we do involve ourselves with the one million Americans living with Parkinson’s disease. We stand with Michael J. Fox and the entire Parkinson’s community and are pleased that there has been so much awareness brought to the disease. |

On September 26, 2006, the Parkinson's Action Network hosted its 13th Annual Udall Awards Dinner. The dinner was a night of honoring PAN's advocates and the entire Parkinson's community for their hard work and support this past year in the mission to find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease. |

The Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) on Tuesday applauded the overwhelming bipartisan passage of H.R. 810, the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act, by a vote of 63-37. PAN now turns to President Bush and implores him to sign the legislation into law. |
