Next week, Congress is expected to unveil a $1.012 trillion spending package
for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014. The legislation, also referred to as an “omnibus” because it will likely include language from all 12 of the annual appropriations bills, was made possible after the passage of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013
in mid-December 2013. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees have worked over the past few weeks and throughout the holidays to redraft appropriations bills, and Congressional leaders are confident that both chambers will pass the legislation before January 16, the expiration date of current funding levels.
Contact your Members of Congress today to tell them to support these important programs as part of the final FY 2014 spending package!
