The leadership of the national Parkinson's disease community consists of several non-profit organizations, each with a different focus and specialty, all of which are working towards on finding a cure and improving care and quality of life. The Parkinson's Unity Walk (PUW) began in 1994 through the dedicated efforts of patients, families, support groups, and friends who were affected by Parkinson's disease. Their main goal is to raise awareness and funds for research to find a cure for Parkinson's.
