Whitepaper: Virtual Doctor Visits Could Save Billions

Deloitte published a new whitepaper predicting that 100 million eVisits will happen globally in 2014 and that eVisits could save $5 billion in health care costs compared to regular doctor visits.

Deloitte defines eVisits as doctor visits that happen using technology from telephones to video conferencing. The authors of the whitepaper also note that even though telephone technology has been around since the 1920s, it’s only recently that eVisits or telehealth has grown in popularity and use.

PAN has been working on expanding access to telehealth for people with Parkinson’s. Learn more about our efforts here.
