Stem Cell Research Update
The Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) is deeply disappointed in the Tuesday, September 7th U.S. District Court Order to deny the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) request to stay the preliminary injunction against federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. PAN will continue fighting this important fight.
Below is a statement released by the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR), of which PAN has been a long-time member.
The following statement may be attributed to Lisa Hughes, president of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research.
We are disappointed with today's Order to deny NIH's Emergency Motion To Stay Preliminary Injunction Pending Appeal issued by Judge Lamberth. CAMR's primary goal is to permanently restore embryonic stem cell research freedom as it existed before August 23, 2010. We look forward to NIH's guidance on how best to interpret today's order.
