Prescription Drug Coverage

Access to Therapy Services
Current law limits, or caps, the amount of outpatient physical and speech therapy and outpatient occupational therapy a Medicare beneficiary can receive each calendar year. PAN supports the repeal of these therapy caps. Learn more.

Medicare Improvement Standard
PAN joined a class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services challenging Medicare’s “improvement standard.” Up until 2013, the improvement standard was a policy within Medicare that required Medicare beneficiaries to show improvement to continue receiving physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services. The case has gone to a favorable settlement for the Parkinson’s community, and some Medicare policies and coverage guidelines have changed. Learn more.
