On February 11-13, 2007, PAN hosted the 13th Annual Research and Education & Public Policy Forum in Washington, DC. Thanks to all of our participants that made this year’s forum a great success!!
The 3-day Forum included panelists to discuss research currently being conducted at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an update from the Coalition for Advancement of Medical Research about stem cell legislation, a panel discussing the latest emerging therapies and an update about the Department of Defense’s Parkinson’s disease program.
The Forum once again serves as a place to set the 2007 legislative agenda. This year promises to be a busy and prospective year legislatively for the Parkinson’s community. PAN advocates will be focused on expanding stem cell research, increasing funding at the Department of Defense and strengthening the Parkinson’s Caucus on Capitol Hill, among many more issues to come.
