Please contact your Members of Congress and ask them to sign onto the Dear Colleague letter in support of Parkinson’s research at the Department of Defense. You can make a huge difference by sending an e-mail to your Members of Congress telling them why this program is important to you and the Parkinson’s community. This program will only continue to exist if it receives the strong support of Members of Congress like yours.
Every year we must fight to keep the Department of Defense Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment Research Parkinson’s (NETRP) program funded by securing Congressional support through a Dear Colleague letter led by the Bicameral Congressional Caucus on Parkinson’s Disease. Your Members of Congress must sign the NETRP Dear Colleague to show their support for this imperative program; the only Parkinson’s specific research program in the Federal government.
The NETRP program focuses on research designed to generate advances in treatments for Parkinson’s disease and seeks to best protect military personnel by identifying, removing, or minimizing the effects of toxic substances, head injury, or other known causes of Parkinson’s disease. E-mail your Representatives and Senators today and tell them to sign the NETRP Dear Colleague to support Parkinson’s research at the Department of Defense. There are currently no deadlines for signing the Dear Colleague but we want to secure as many signatures as we can before the deadlines are established. We will update by e-mail as more information is available.
