Senate NETRP Deadline April 9

As you know, we need your help to ensure innovative Parkinson’s disease research at the Department of Defense is fully funded next year.  The Senate Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment Research Parkinson’s (NETRP) Dear Colleague funding letter is open for signatures until April 9th.  Now is the time to e-mail your Senators and ask them to support the NETRP program by signing onto the Senate Dear Colleague.

Reasons to E-mail Today
  • Funding the NETRP program is our top-priority and we must work to include the program in the Senate bill for the first time this year.

  • The NETRP program has never been funded in the Senate Defense Appropriations bill.  Because the program was not funded in the Senate bill last year, it resulted in a $6.5 million cut to the program.

  • The NETRP program is a national peer-reviewed granting program that aims to improve the treatment of and find a cure for Parkinson’s disease as well as provide the Department of Defense with information on how to best protect military personnel.  All NETRP program grants have direct military application.

  • We currently have 21 Senators signed onto the NETRP Dear Colleague.  Your Senator’s signature could mean the difference in millions of Parkinson’s research dollars.

  • E-mailing your Senators about the NETRP program is quick and simple.  Click below, enter your ZIP code, add your personal story to the written e-mail, and hit the send button.

In less than five minutes you can make your voice heard on Capitol Hill.  Ask your Senators to make a commitment to Parkinson’s disease research at the Department of Defense by e-mailing them today!

Thank you for your hard-work securing House support for NETRP.  To learn more about the NETRP program or see the list of House Dear Colleague signers, click here.
