The House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee is expected to meet this Wednesday, July 30, to establish the funding levels for the Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment Research Parkinson’s (NETRP) program and the entire Defense bill. The funding level set by the Subcommittee is the benchmark for negotiations as the appropriations process moves forward. Your action is needed to help ensure the NETRP program is adequately funded in the Defense Appropriations bill.
It is imperative that the House of Representatives knows that the NETRP program is the PD community’s top-priority. Please take five minutes to call your Representative and ask him/her to support the NETRP program!
The NETRP program is the only Parkinson's-specific program in the Federal government. This important program funds research designed to better protect our military personnel and improve the treatment of PD, as well as to identify the cause of the disease and prevent it. Calling your Representative now can help ensure this innovative PD research program receives the requested $55 million in the Defense Appropriations bill this year.
