Penn School of Medicine Named Udall Parkinson's Disease Center of Excellence

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine will receive $1.5 million annually from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) over the next five years to study the molecular mechanisms that underlie the cognitive and movement aspects of Parkinson’s disease, as well as enhance the care and treatment of patients and training of physicians.

Recent Study Reveals Majority of Infertile Couples Would Likely Donate Embryos to Stem Cell Research

DURHAM, N.C. -- In a survey of over a thousand patients who have created and frozen embryos as part of fertility treatment, 60 percent said they would be likely to donate unused embryos for stem cell research, according to a study led by researchers at Duke University Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University.

Lonnie Ali, wife of Muhammad Ali, has launched “Fight For MORE,” a national campaign that provides support, educational tools and resources to people who care for people with Parkinson's disease.
