Stem cell research advocates nationwide will gather at the State of Stem Cell Advocacy 2008 conference on April 12-13, 2008.  The conference is being presented by Americans for Cures Foundation at San Francisco's UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center.

The Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) applauds the recent success of one of its Board Members, Peggy Willocks.  Peggy recently had a letter to the editor published in the Wall Street Journal.  Her local paper, the Johnson City Press in Johnson City, Tenn., published yesterday an article detailing Peggy’s advocacy for PAN and the greater Parkinson’s community.

Penn School of Medicine Named Udall Parkinson's Disease Center of Excellence

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine will receive $1.5 million annually from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) over the next five years to study the molecular mechanisms that underlie the cognitive and movement aspects of Parkinson’s disease, as well as enhance the care and treatment of patients and training of physicians.

Recent Study Reveals Majority of Infertile Couples Would Likely Donate Embryos to Stem Cell Research

DURHAM, N.C. -- In a survey of over a thousand patients who have created and frozen embryos as part of fertility treatment, 60 percent said they would be likely to donate unused embryos for stem cell research, according to a study led by researchers at Duke University Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University.
